Arts and Crafts with Mae


My friend just got a job at the Daily News, and its her birthday today, so I bought her the only book I could find on the history of the Daily News: Tell It To Sweeney, which unfortunately only goes up to 1961. But anyway, the book had the look of an ugly, old library book, so I attempted to create my own front and back covers. Here are the results (pardon the flash glare).
P.S. "Tell it to Sweeney" refers to the famous mandate given by Joseph
Medill Patterson when the paper was started in 1919, to reach the working class everyman: "Tell it to Sweeney--the Stuyvesants will take care of themselves."
