Cherry blossoms '09

Speaking of peak of spring flower blooming, my friend Erica and I went to see our friend Emily in Washington D.C. this weekend just in time for the cherry blossoms. It was a beautiful day and the flowers were gorgeous. I don't quite know how to embed the slideshow like Ingrid did but i will try! Also, we are trying to figure out what the tree is in the first photo. It doesn't have any leaves yet but the flowers are pink and white, big and waxy, somewhat like magnolia blossoms. anyone know?

It looks like you had a wonderful time in D.C. and the trees and weather were gorgeous. Isn't Springtime great! This is Mom by the way.

It's likely some type of magnolia. Glad you had perfect weather-great photos!
