On the Santa Fe trail

Hi everyone,
Here are some pictures from the Santa Fe Trail Trek, which I completed last week. It left Santa Fe on Sept. 13 and arrived at the beginning of the trail, New Franklin, MO on October 2, after 20 days of riding and sleeping in my tent. It was a pretty hard ride, but a great experience. The pictures are: 1. The ruins of the Pecos Pueblo in New Mexico. 2. Me with Chester Perry, Atlanta rider, on the plains of New Mexico with the Wagon Mound visible between us. 3. Bent's Old Fort in southern Colorado on the Arkansas River, a really nice reconstructed fort that looks like it did during the heyday of the trail, and 4. at the end of the ride in New Franklin. The weather was great -- only 2 days of rain in 20 days. I was somewhat sore by the end, but still felt strong. The biggest downside was having to dodge giant trucks on roads with no shoulders to ride on. That was scary...Now, it's great to be back for Fall in Decatur...
