Flowering Venus Flytrap!
From the Sweet Briar Archives, this flowering venus flytrap is crazy. Not only is it the harbinger of insect death, it tries to attract pollinators too? How does that work, Janet?

Here's what I learned during a five minute google search. 1) it can take several years for the flytrap to reach maturity and produce a flower and 2) producing a flower weakens the plant for possibly a year and it may even die. So you might as well pollinate it to get the seeds... You can cut off the flower bud to avoid this, but only when it is young. Of course the experts out there can tell me how wrong I might be!
