Semi-identical human twins reported

A while back, we here at the Wilton Drive blog, had a twin discussion, the issue being a particularly relevant one to us. We concluded that semi-identical twins had not yet been documented in humans, so we were most probably fraternal. Well, this week, in the lastest human twin research, a case of semi-identical twins has been reported in the Journal of Human genetics. In the case of these toddlers, one egg was fertilized by two separate sperm, and subsequently split into two. Read the links for more info:
